About Oak Corner

A little over 4 years ago we acquired a small plot of land based in Pickmere, Cheshire. With the help of wonderful volunteers we have been able to transform what was once an overgrown field and turn it into a beautiful space for people to collaborate, learn and have fun with one an other.

The Allotment:

The allotment has been created to grow the fresh produce that we learn to cook. At Education for Life we believe that whenever possible, producing and growing your own fresh produce is the best option! This way, you get to consume food that hasn't had loads of chemicals and pesticides thrown at it. In addition, we love the sense of pride you get when seeing your crops grow. It's wonderful to see how kids react as they get to see and use their finished product.

The Fire Pit:

The fire pit is a space created to encourage teamwork, group discussions and most of all cook food! We're a big lover of upcycling and doing the most with what you've got.  So far we've cooked things such as a harrisa stew, vegetable soup (with our organic, on site grown veg!) , flatbreads, BBQ's and more.

The Bell Tent:

The bell tent provides great shelter, especially when the British weather isn't on our side. The cosy environment helps encourage children to learn. Roxy loves this space. In particular, she enjoys reading with kids here. There's many activities we hold in here. Workshops can be created according to your specific requirements so don't hesitate to get in touch if your interested.

The Hut:

The hut is the latest addition to Oak Corner. Stay tuned to see what exciting things we do with it!
